Landscape-Integrated Urban Quarter
The new district is seamlessly integrated into its surroundings through a network of pedestrian and cycling routes connecting the Paunsdorf woodland, adjacent residential areas, and the Paunsdorf Center. A continuous green ring links the neighborhood to the surrounding landscape, bringing nature into the urban fabric and shaping its identity. The overall layout and development structure are derived from the existing context and the urban framework of Leipzig.
A strong urban address along Paunsdorfer Allee defines the district’s character, while flexible development plots accommodate a diverse range of uses. Three residential typologies create varied living environments: landscape-oriented linear and point buildings, permeable perimeter blocks with articulated street fronts, and urban perimeter blocks with selective passages. Special-use buildings are positioned along the main streets, forming a clear urban edge and reinforcing the spatial identity of the neighborhood.
